Wax on, Wax off

I left my garden alone for a week in July, and while the flowers are lovely the weeds are out of control. I’m a perennial gardeners because I like low intensity and I love to see things fill in from year to year, but weeding is a necessity unless you’re a total wild gardener. So I try to find the zen in it – a task that doesn’t require mental energy, but can provide a vehicle for attending to the present. And it keeps my arms looking hot to boot.
