Last in Line

Poor Lonesome George, the last of his species of Galapagos tortoise. Finally, after 15 sterile years, one of his female tortoise mates laid some eggs, which ensures the folks at the Galapagos National Park in Ecuador aren’t facing the same embarrassment as the folks at Kushiro Municipal Zoo in Japan. But unfortunately the eggs are infertile.
