Grandma, My OG

Last weekend I was getting ready for my knitting group, and pulled out a big bin of vintage patterns I got from my grandma, who taught me to knit and was an incredibly prolific knitter. While going through them, and looking at her notes in the margins, I started to really miss her, so I got out a sweater she made, and a bunch of her old jewelry. And it struck me: Grandma’s style, with layered gold necklaces, was remarkably similar to a rapper’s. As the Jewish new year rolls around, I get very nostalgic, and I’m thinking of my OG, my grandma.Sept09 013
