Abundance Issues

Ellison and I are undergoing a mini-kitchen renovation. It all started when we promised ourselves in December 2008 that we would buy a gas stove and a dishwasher before our next Chanukkah Party. Like good doobies, we went out in November and bought a stove and dishwasher, and made an appointment with our plumber to have them installed. Just one little issue: our current dishwasher has a subfloor laid around it, so essentially it’s built into the floor. Two options: rip out the floor, or pull out our lovely harvest gold formica countertop. Well, we deliberated long and hard, as you might imagine, but finally the decision was made: the counter would have to go.

So, we called our friend who does tile and stone, he helped us to set a plan and a budget, and yesterday, everything that was harvest gold or fake brick went, BUH BYE.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Two weeks without a countertop won’t be that bad, right?
