I am a big fan of heavy machinery, and was lucky enough to work in Boston during the Big Dig, where my commute route was undisrupted yet involved a walk through a constantly changing construction site in Haymarket. But my absolute favorite thing is the zipper truck that adjusts a barrier between lanes south of Boston. And now, it’s here:
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has begun a resurfacing project on Route 146 in Lincoln that may have motorists thinking they are on the Southeast Expressway in Boston. That’s because RIDOT will be using the same type of movable barrier system – and the same special “zipper truck”– used to mitigate traffic congestion in Massachusetts’ largest city.
Maybe a good excuse to grab a cone at the Lincoln Creamery.
