Travel Woes

I set myself up with posts while I was at camp, apparently not remembering that the most challenging part of time off is the backlog in returning. I’m off at the Common Ground Country Fair in Unity, Maine this weekend with Kristina, who seems to be my strange festival buddy this year. And will be atoning for my sins on Monday – believe me, it will take all day. So here’s a tidbit to tide you over for a few days – an example of two iconic images combining in a confusing and unhelpful way. hanger

Open Garden Day!

Today is Open Garden Day in Providence. Community gardens around the state are hosting an open house from 1-4. If you’ve wanted to see my items in person, now’s your chance. I’ll be in Davis Park all afternoon.

OPEN GARDEN DAY, 1-4 pm
A dozen community gardens open their gates! You’re invited to take a self-guided tour. Step inside that garden you’ve always wondered about, or visit a few that you never knew existed! This year’s OPEN GARDEN DAY includes all kinds of gardens- from newly built raised beds to gardens that have been growing strong for over 25 years! Take a look at our POSTER & pick a few gardens to visit!

INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK, 5-7 pm
After the tour, head over to BRIDGHAM COMMUNITY GARDEN (at the corner of Westminster St & Bridgham St). Bring a dish to share! You’re encouraged to bring a family favourite, or include veggies from your garden. Join us for a joyful meal & meet community gardeners from all over the city!

I would do just about anything for her (that’d be the posting, not the signing), so taking an afternoon to hang out at her house, listen to some awesome live music, some seriously talented musical guests, and stand in the running water was not a hard sell.

The Logistics are a challenge

The Logistics are a challenge

This particular concert was scheduled to take place in the center of the stream running behind erock’s house….a stream which the previous night’s rain had kicked up a notch. The logistics were a little challenging but it came off wonderfully. More photos here; a sampling after the jump.
